Chris is a successful healthcare executive, founding and managing healthcare ventures on three continents. Notably, he expanded Oceania Oncology in Australia, later selling it to the ICON group.
Medical Director (MBChB (Ed), FRCS (Plast))
Mr Pahal is an NHS Consultant Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon at Barts and The Royal London Hospitals. He is the Lead Clinician for Plastic Surgery at Barts Health, has previously been the Plastic Surgical Governance Lead for the same Trust, and is a fellowship-trained microsurgeon with a particular interest in the management and reconstruction of trauma patients.

Plastic Surgery Clinical Lead (FFICM, FRCS (PLAST))
Professor Dziewulski is a Consultant Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon. He has held a Consultant post at the St Andrews Centre for Plastic Surgery & Burns, Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, Essex since 1998. He is a Visiting Professor with StAAR at the School of Medicine, Anglia Ruskin University, Essex. He is the author of over 100 published articles and fifteen book chapters mainly relating to burn care. He also co-edited the ‘ABC of Burns’ for BMJ publishing. He trained in Plastic Surgery in London, Yorkshire, Newcastle and Texas, USA and has a special interest in burn management and skin cancer. He belongs to the Court of Examiners at the Royal College of Surgeons, England. He is past Chairman of the British Burns Association and is on the Editorial Committee of the Burns Journal. Professor Dziewulski is past Chair of the Essex Skin Cancer Network Site Specific Group and Lead Clinician of Essex Specialist Skin Cancer Multidisciplinary Team.
Reconstructive Microsurgery Clinical Lead (MD, MSc, FRCS (Plast))
Mr Juan Berner is a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon at The Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where he provides high-quality care to patients requiring complex reconstructions following trauma and cancer treatment. Upon completion of his training Mr Berner became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. He is on the GMC Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery and routinely performs free tissue transfer for head and neck, extremity and breast reconstruction. He has published over 90 articles in peer-reviewed journals, often in collaboration with other medical specialties and is pursuing a Doctorate in Philosophy at The University of Oxford. Within The Surgical Consortium he leads a team that aims to deliver excellence in patient care, while advancing the field of plastic surgery through innovation.
Ophthalmology Clinical Lead (MD, PhD, FEBO)
Mr Cascone is a Consultant Ophthalmic and Oculoplastic Surgeon at the Royal London Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust, with a distinguished career marked by extensive experience and expertise in ophthalmology. Mr Cascone has completed multiple Oculoplastic fellowships at esteemed institutions such as Queen Victoria Hospital, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, and Royal Free Hospital in London. He has earned a Ph.D in Advanced Technologies in Ophthalmic Surgery. Mr. Cascone is the Clinical Lead for the Adult Ophthalmology Department, for the Oculoplastic, the Cataract and the Learning Disability Services at the Royal London Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust. He is actively engaged in professional memberships, including the British Oculoplastic Surgery Society (BOPSS), the European Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ESOPRS). He is Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology (FEBO). Mr Cascone has contributed to ophthalmology through publications, presentations, grants, and projects projects.
Orthopaedic Clinical Lead (MA, MSc, LLM, FRCS (Tr & Orth))
Mr. Dawson-Bowling is a distinguished orthopaedic consultant specialising in the treatment of hip conditions, knee sports injuries, and partial, total, and redo knee replacements. With extensive experience, he is renowned for his expertise in revising failed joint replacements and performing complex hip joint replacement surgeries. As a highly regarded teacher, author, and speaker, he prioritises empathy and excellent communication with his patients. Mr. Dawson-Bowling is deeply committed to research and innovation, being among the few surgeons utilising the MAKOplasty robotic arm for enhanced precision in hip implant placement. Currently, he is collaborating with an international team to develop a novel type of hip implant for hip replacements.
General Surgery Clinical Lead (MBBS FRCS PhD)
Mr Kadirkamanathan holds the distinction of being the first surgeon in Europe to pioneer the insertion of gastric electrical stimulators for patients with diabetic and idiopathic gastroparesis, a procedure he first performed in 2000. Since 2003, he has been a General Surgery Consultant at Broomfield Hospital, where he established and continues to oversee this service. Additionally, Mr Kadirkamanathan played a pivotal role in the development of the endoscopic capsule, a groundbreaking innovation enabling visualization of the entire small bowel. His areas of expertise encompass General Surgery, Cancer Surgery, Anti-Reflux Surgery, Gastrointestinal Physiology, Motility Disorders, Bariatric Surgery, Weight Loss Surgery, Gastroesophageal Reflux, Upper Gastrointestinal Disease, Laparoscopic Procedures, Capsule Endoscopy, and Hernia Repair.
Pain Clinical Lead (MD FRCA FFPMRCA)
Dr Nikolic specialises in the non-surgical management of spinal and musculoskeletal pain through interventional procedures. With a focus on conditions such as neck and arm pain, lower back pain (with or without sciatica), and complex myofascial pain syndromes, Dr. Nikolic possesses extensive expertise in minimally invasive spinal techniques. His special interests lie in spinal cord stimulation, dorsal root stimulation, and multifidus stimulation. Dr Nikolic has contributed to numerous published articles in the field of Pain Medicine and Neuromodulation, reflecting his active involvement in both research and teaching. Currently, he is engaged in an international multi-center research endeavour focused on multifidus stimulation.
Cataract Clinical Lead (MSc, FRCS)
Mr Elsayed is an esteemed Ophthalmology Consultant currently serving as a full-time at Dumfries And Galloway Royal Infirmary since March 2020. With a focus on excellence in patient care, Mr Elsayed leads the Cataract Service at the institution, demonstrating his dedication to improving ophthalmic services. His role as an Ophthalmology recognised Clinical Trainer underscores his commitment to education and mentorship within the field. Additionally, Mr Elsayed contributes his expertise as a valued member of the Clinical Advisory Board in Scotland, where his insights help shape strategic healthcare decisions. As a practicing General Ophthalmologist, Mr Elsayed specialises in cataract, glaucoma, and cornea conditions, offering comprehensive care to his patients. Mr Sachin Patil is a highly skilled ENT Surgeon, trained through a Fellowship program in the UK, specialising in Ear, Otology, Paediatric ENT, balance disorders, and Lateral Skull Base disorders. With a distinguished career, he assumes pivotal roles as both Clinical Lead and Governance Lead at the NHS, serving at East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust, with primary locations at Ipswich and Colchester Hospital. Additionally, Mr Patil extends his expertise to Barking, Havering, and Redbridge University Hospital, demonstrating his commitment to providing exceptional care across multiple healthcare settings.
Dermatology Regional Lead (MB ChB)
Dr Taban Jaff has consistently demonstrated a passion for nurturing and supporting healthcare professionals throughout her career. As a Consultant Dermatologist based in Aberdeen, she prioritises the development of junior doctors, nursing staff, and GP colleagues with a keen interest in dermatology. Actively engaged in her Trust's teaching program for medical students and junior doctors, Dr Jaff shares her expertise and fosters learning within the medical community. She has delivered numerous presentations to fellow healthcare professionals, sharing insights and advancements in dermatology. Moreover, Dr Jaff plays an integral role in mentoring and guiding nursing colleagues, aiding them in achieving higher degrees and advancing their careers.
